Commander of Kadosh

Distinguished Brethren of Bremerton Valley,

I don’t know about you, but I was kind of bummed this weekend.   What had been predicted to be a beautiful, warm, sunny fall weekend, turned out to be rather dreary, and for some, unsafe.   However, after spending some time reflecting, my disappointment turned to gratitude.   Over the last six months, we have witnessed so much suffering and loss across our nation and around our world,  and I realized how fortunate I am to not only have a secure place to live and plenty of food to eat, but just as importantly, to have a worthwhile mission to focus on as Master of Silverdale Lodge No. 311 and Commander of Kadosh.  At a time when so many opportunities for connection have been taken away and divisiveness seems to be on the rise, I am exceedingly grateful and proud to belong to such a collaborative, high-functioning team of Brethren.

While 2020 may continue to present us with unprecedented challenges and unwelcome surprises, I am mindful of how fortunate I am to belong to this incredibly cohesive and resilient team of Brethren during this uncertain time.   I am grateful that I get to work with people of great character and that I greatly admire, and I am grateful that we have a worthy mission and way to contribute to the good of Masonry.  Let’s continue to hold the line, embrace our shared values and be the Helpers the world needs now more than ever.   And most importantly let’s continue to take care of each other.  Thank you!

Fraternally and V/r,

Todd Mears, 32º

WM, Silverdale Lodge No. 311

Commander of Kadosh
